Cray House

With its central location, the journey to The Body Toolkit Retreat at Cray House is easy, whether you’re travelling from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Inverness.  1.5 hours from Edinburgh, Cray is on the Deeside Tourist Route which takes you through Blairgowrie & Glenshee (Britain’s highest main road).

By Car

(Sat Navs will take you slightly too far east on the B951, so please follow these directions for the last half mile at least - Postcode: PH10 7LP).

By Car from the South (Perth/Edinburgh/Stirling/Glasgow)

1.5 hours from Edinburgh; 2 hours from Glasgow

Perth lies around 30 miles south of Cray House. From Perth, follow the A93 to Blairgowrie. Shortly after crossing the River Ericht bridge in Blairgowrie, turn left to stay on the A93, following the signs for A93 (Spittal of Glenshee). Continue for a further 15 miles, travelling through Bridge of Cally and past the Blackwater Ski Hire.

Take the right-hand turn for the B951, signposted Glenisla. Travel down the hill and alongside the River Shee, then over the small bridge and you will see the gates to Cray House immediately in front of you.

Go through and continue up the drive, past the front of the house and round to the rear.  You may also park on the gravel drive in front of the house.

By Car from the North (Inverness/Braemar/Aberdeenshire)

2 hours from Inverness

There are two routes you can take when travelling from the north. The first is much more direct, however, please be aware that it is a high route, very windy, some of it is single track and unfenced, with a risk of deer and sheep running onto the road suddenly. It is however a picturesque route. Braemar lies 20 miles to the North of Cray. Join the A93 Southwards towards Blairgowrie. Take the Left turn after 20 miles onto the B951, signposted Glenisla. Travel down the hill and alongside the River Shee then over it on a small bridge. The gates for Cray are immediately in front of you.

Alternatively, via the A9 - leave the A9 at Pitlochry and enter the town following direction signs. As you go through the town look out for a left-hand turn for Braemar – take this turning. After about 14 miles you will come to the village of Kirkmichael, carry on through the village. As you leave, take the left hand turning, signed Braemar. Four miles along this road you will come to a T-junction, turn left to join the A93. After about 4 miles there will be a sign indicating a right-hand turn, B951 to Kirkton of Glenisla. Take this right turn. There is a short piece of windy road and over the small bridge, you will see Cray gates before you.

By Car from the East (Aberdeen/Forfar)

1.75 hours from Aberdeen

Aberdeen lies 75 miles to the north east of Cray. Take the A92 Southwards towards Dundee for 50 miles, then take the exit for Kirriemuir/Forfar and join the A926 towards Kirriemuir. Follow signs for Kirton of Glenisla, joining the B951 and continuing through Kirkton of Glenisla. After another 6.5 miles, you will pass the old Cray Church on your right. At the bottom of the hill, just before the bridge, turn Left into the Cray front gates.
